THE HURRICANE SURPRISE THE NEWS COMPLETELY MISSED!
When it comes to hurricane prep, what you see on TV never tells the whole story.
EARLY HOURS CHAOS
It was 3:30 AM. Twelve cars sat in the dark, everyone arguing over parking and how to form the line before organizers arrived.
I purposely stayed back. Packing cars too close in a tense line is a recipe for an accident, and nothing is worth that risk.
One truck driver disagreed. He decided to rush and skip me in line. The result? He hit a pole, damaging his truck before the drive even started. Why rush to skip twelve cars when hundreds more are coming behind you? This is exactly why I stay back and stay safe.
Well, I finally got to a bathroom when they opened up the local church around 8 AM!
Early in the morning, things actually started out pretty quiet. At 5:00 AM, there was minor chaos—just about a dozen cars sitting in the dark, waiting early before the rush.
But by the time I headed back out around 9:30 AM? That is when the real madness hit the neighborhood.
Cars were absolutely all over the place. The gridlock spilled down different streets, blocked up different avenues, and took over all four corners from the north to the west.
But the biggest story wasn't the traffic on the avenues. It was what was waiting inside the supply box.
Everyone expects emergency prep boxes to be full of the usual boring survival gear. But when this box was opened, it revealed an incredible personal twist that the news cameras completely missed:
Tucked away was a hard black cosmetic case. Inside, it held a wonderful collection of personal items to help look good! It instantly flipped the mood. Forget just surviving—it was a reminder that even when a storm is rolling in, we can still smell and look good in hurricane style!
